Wednesday September 12
I was blessed with the opportunity to attend two musical events over the weekend. Both very different however two links connected them. They were both for charity and they both used the power of music to bring people together. I’m a lover of all music, as long as its good, and my experiences were spectacular!
On Saturday night a charity called OneXOne held event at the KoolHaus. The show featured great talent such Mr. Kardinal Offishall and Ms. Lauryn Hill. Kardinal wasn’t alone. He did a wonderful thing by bringing on many talented artists, who along with him, are the foundation for Urban Music in Canada. Artists such as, Jully Black, Maestro Fresh Wes and most recent on the scene Ms. ShiWisdom. The chemistry on stage was electric! Amazingly talented group of artists.
Sunday was just as busy.
Each year, MAC VIVA GLAM holds an event called Fashion Cares where money is raised for Aids Research. This was their 25th and unfortunately the last year for this event. They made a point to go out with a bang with Sir Elton John headlining and many of Toronto’s finest in the music industry including such names as Jully Black, Keisha Chante, Jarvis Church, Molly Johnson, Kreesha Turner, Divine Brown, Shawn Desmond, Matt Dusk and so many more. Janelle Monet, Sky Ferrier, Scissors Sisters and others also showed their support by singing!
This weekend was a busy one but I had great fun.
