I like to think I’m ‘In The Know’ of most current events but sometimes I don’t have the heart to listen to such depressing news. So many innocent lives being harmed, crimes being carried out and people constantly in court pleading for their innocence.
Some people will tell you that there are two sides to every story. I’m here to tell you there are actually three. Theirs, yours and the truth.
These thoughts have inspired the following:
If truth had a voice…
If truth had a voice, what would it say? Would it tell your version or did it go another way?
If truth had a voice, how would it sound? Soft and subtle like a breeze? Or thunderously loud, heard miles around?
I can tell you, if truth had a voice it would be confident and strong, knowing it had honour on its side. Truth gains its information on facts and not thoughts and isn’t bothered by any foolish pride.
Truth won’t bend for you in any way, truth doesn’t know how to lie. So next time you’re asked to tell the your story, think of truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth before you reply.
Below is a song called ‘Truth’ by Alexander Ebert feat. RZA. This is the first time I’ve heard of this artist but the song is relatable to my poem and sounds alright. I love RZA’s rhyme on it.
